Who does what? Differences between Property Managers and Directors

In contrast, the Board of Directors acts as the governing body, akin to corporate executives in a company, responsible for setting prices, operational policies, and making pivotal decisions that shape the condo's direction. They have fiduciary duties to act in the best interests of the condo corporation, which includes reviewing options presented by the Manager and overseeing their implementation. Unlike Managers, Directors actively seek cost-saving opportunities and ensure compliance with legal obligations such as the Condo Act and community rules.

Crosscombe stresses that while a competent Condo Manager enhances operational efficiency and supports the Board's functions, they cannot substitute for the strategic decision-making role of Directors.
