Article Summary:

The Ministry of Government and Consumer Services is seeking public input on proposed regulatory changes to support the implementation of the Condominium Act, 1998 (Condominium Act) as amended by the Protecting Condominium Owners Act, 2015 (PCOA). These changes aim to improve governance, transparency, and accountability of condo boards. The proposal incorporates input from public engagement processes conducted from 2012-2014 as part of the Condominium Act Review, as well as additional feedback received since then. The ministry aims to have many of these changes come into force on July 1, 2017, with the remainder in fall 2017. Feedback can be provided through Ontario's Regulatory Registry.
