Proposed Implementation of Ultra Low Overnight Energy Prices

The CCI Huronia and other CCI chapters in Ontario submitted proposals to the Ministry of Energy to implement permanent changes that enable new voluntary enhanced time-of-use electricity rates, including an ultra low overnight price. The objective is to shift electrical consumption to non-peak hours and increase grid capacity, ultimately supporting the electrification of other industries in Ontario. Condominiums in Ontario, being numerous, can play a significant role in achieving this objective. The submissions highlight the importance of government incentives for upgrading electrical infrastructure in condominiums to further encourage the adoption of ultra low overnight energy prices.
