Neighbourhood Watch

Neighbourhood Watch is a program for condo communities to work together to identify and report concerns to the police. Residents should be encouraged to walk through their property at regular intervals and take pictures or report what they see to security or police. Condo directors may need to increase condo fees to provide an acceptable level of building-wide protection. Neighbourhood watch programs are a no-cost way to provide security in condo communities where most residents reside year-round. It requires a lot of time and requires a coordinator to obtain and maintain contact information for each resident. It is an organized system to observe and report so problems are resolved before they get worse, and can work well with local police.
