The Ontario government revoked the state of emergency due to COVID-19 on July 24th, 2020, triggering new mandatory timelines for condominium corporations to hold their Annual General Meetings (AGMs). Condominiums now have 90 days after July 24th to hold their AGMs if the last date to hold the AGM fell between March 17th and July 24th, 2020, and 120 days after July 24th if the last date was between July 25th and August 24th, 2020. Additionally, Bill 190 permits condominiums to hold their AGMs electronically until November 22nd, 2020, even without a by-law in place to explicitly allow virtual AGMs.
