CCI-Toronto has been informed about a class action lawsuit against Airbnb in British Columbia. The class includes all Canadian condominium corporations whose common elements were used or rented through Airbnb without consent, and Canadian residents who own real property listed and rented through Airbnb without their consent. The court has approved a settlement of the lawsuit, and a fund of $500,000.00 is available for distribution to class members. Those eligible to claim a portion of the settlement fund must do so by August 8, 2022.
