Article Summary:

The U.S. is looking to Canada as a model to facilitate public-private partnerships as they plan for infrastructure investment following the passage of two spending bills. Many transportation, telecommunications, energy, utility, facilities, and decarbonization projects are anticipated, with P3s predicted to be central to the rollout of many of those projects. Clean energy, grid capacity, and broadband are required components for achieving ambitious targets to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The CIB in Canada has invested in nearly 40 projects, including commercial building retrofits, transit fleets, low-carbon fuel, and EV charging projects, with EV charging infrastructure prioritized in both the U.S. and Canada.
