Article Summary:

The Government of Ontario has extended temporary legislative amendments to the Condominium Act, 1998, allowing condo corporations to call and hold virtual owner meetings until September 30, 2023. This means that corporations governed under the Condo Act can continue to hold owner meetings and collect votes through telephonic or electronic means without an authorizing by-law in place until September 30, 2023. Corporations are encouraged to pass a by-law allowing the use of electronic means for their governance meetings to give them flexibility after September 3, 2022. Hosted Virtual Meeting solution is available to help corporations run successful virtual AGMs.
