Condo Boards - Should Diversity Be a Consideration

The blog discusses whether diversity should be a consideration in condo boards. While some believe that diversity by sex, age or ethnicity is desirable, practicality often makes this impossible as board members must be willing volunteers with available time and relevant expertise. Retired individuals tend to dominate condo boards, and owners should be concerned with electing the most qualified and capable individuals as directors. While board diversity may be an admirable goal, it probably should not be encouraged at the expense of more capable and qualified candidates willing to give their time.
