Carbon Tax Will Be Implemented In Ontario On April 1st! But How (If At All) Will Your Condominium Be Impacted?

Author:

Publication date:
April 1, 2019
Article Summary:

Starting on April 1, 2019, a federal carbon tax will be implemented in Ontario, as well as in Manitoba, New Brunswick, and Saskatchewan. However, the impact on condominiums will be limited, with the most significant impact being felt by those that use natural gas. The Ontario Energy Board has not approved any increase in the rates charged by natural gas utilities, so there will be no change in the rates due to the carbon tax. Instead, there will be a decrease of approximately 6% in natural gas rates, which will be reflected in the bills of condominiums that use natural gas.

Keywords:

Carbon tax, Ontario, condominiums, natural gas, rate increase, rate decrease.
