Article Summary:

Candles should be used in well-ventilated rooms and away from flammable objects. They should be kept at least 30 centimetres away from flammable objects, in sturdy candle holders, and 10 centimetres apart. Candles should be kept out of the reach of children and pets, and must be extinguished when leaving the room or going to bed. Candles should be put out when there is at least five centimetres of wax left or one centimetre if they are in a container. Using candles during a power outage is dangerous and should be replaced with battery-operated flameless candles. Cooking equipment is the leading cause of home fires, and PuroClean offers professional restoration services to any property affected by fire, water or mould damage.
