I've narrowed down these tips to four I think can work for any living room that needs to feel larger without sacrificing style. Built-in units are the ultimate when it comes to making the most of a small space, as they can be built into awkward angles and alcoves, and store-bought furniture simply cannot compete in this area. Storage is necessary to keep a home uncluttered and show that it's been thoughtfully designed, and built-in shelving also creates an extra spot for decorating. There can be other "framing" opportunities in a small living room, such as built-in window seating and lining multiple sides of a room with built-in seating.
